The HighRoad Solution Story

HighRoad Solution was founded by two pioneers of the digital world. Ron McGrath and Dave Caruso developed, sold, and implemented high-tech communication technology at several start-ups in the Washington DC area. They served businesses, associations, and nonprofits.

As digital technology began a staple of marketing and managing customer relationships, they noticed a trend. Despite dozens of companies fighting for the same market, the technology inside these platforms was largely the same. The true value stemmed from how these systems were used, supported, and integrated with other business systems.

When launching HighRoad Solution in 2005 to serve associations, Ron and Dave had a decision to make. They considered building an email and messaging software company from the ground up. However, their experience told them that there was a better model to get results for membership organizations.

We take the best pre-existing email and marketing automation technology and make it work for associations. However, reselling business-grade tools to associations just won’t cut it.

By building our own software and integrations on top of the same platforms that successful commercial companies use, HighRoad gives you the best of both worlds. We make the world’s best business marketing platforms accessible to associations.

After successfully working together at several start-up, high-tech communication companies, Dave and Ron found themselves facing management challenges. Faced with a business situation that conflicted with their beliefs, they decided to leave and start their own company based on their core business principles.

Having chosen the harder path to become entrepreneurs, they founded the business with the only safety net being their belief in doing the right thing and their self-confidence in their ability to work hard. They decided to name the firm HighRoad Solution to forever mark their personal decision and stamped their new business with a visible sign of their philosophy of client care.

Dave and Ron continue to expand HighRoad in a purposeful manner- building a stellar staff who share their business philosophy, selecting top communication software partners and working with clients who view their relationship with HighRoad as a partner and not a vendor.

Taking the high road rarely results in quick success, but it has certainly been worthwhile for HighRoad Solution. Chosen and endorsed by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and selected as a top partner to many technology companies.
